Object-based Video Retrieval

Within the project IV-ART different techniques to model, collect, and use the visual appearance of objects within videos and the relations of objects in specific video domains will be investigated for the task of video retrieval.

Possible research directions for a master thesis include

Object retrieval and classification
Development of context/domain models to represent inter-object relations and domain-object relations
Automatic combination and configuration of image/video features
The use of external knowledge sources (such as Flickr, Youtube, and Wikipedia) to enhance the video annotation process
